The Home-Start Cheshire charity support families in Crewe and across most parts of Cheshire, providing essential support to help vulnerable families.

During the Covid-19 lock down the charity required general HR support, but the need increased as the charity was required to furlough staff. Our skill donor was already in place to extend and flex their offer support the furlough process with timely advice and the necessary HR policies, with staff briefing guidance and document templates.

Our long-standing HR skill donor, Judy Watson, from Kinvara Consulting, offered to skill share and has been an invaluable support for the newly appointed charity CEO during the Covid-19 crisis.

Quote:

“Further to your introduction (Cheshire Connect) to Kinvara Consulting, I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to you both because Judy’s expertise and advice could not have been more timely.

Thanks to a 1:1 Zoom call session with Judy and the Chair of my board, Richard Croft, we have been able to instigate the furlough process professionally and expeditiously at our Charity. Thanks to Judy’s knowledge and guidance, as CEO I was able to enter the process with confidence. Judy also very kindly shared some documentation to enable delivery of the process, with a clear offer of further support should we need it. Thanks to Judy’s help, our furlough action has gone very smoothly.

Our organisation has been under some significant pressures due to Covid-19, one of the greatest being funding. We would have struggled to pay for this level of professional support, so we are extremely grateful to Cheshire Connect for creating such a valuable relationship.

Once again – many thanks to you both!”   Sarah Jones, CEO, Home-Start Cheshire
