The Flag Lane Swimming Baths Art Deco listed building is a major community project in Crewe. The mission is to restore, re-use and regenerate the building for the purpose of creating a resource and launch pad for those most vulnerable in the local community. This project is the brainchild of the local faith group and homeless support leader Rev David Edwards at The Lighthouse Centre.
Cheshire Connect has provided multiple high impact skill donors, over the last two years from local businesses, including SMEs, South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and leading international corporate organisations based in Crewe. The project has now formed a new charity called Always Ahead and the Capital Campaign to raise £3.2m is chaired by a leading international corporate executive.
Rev David Edwards Director and Founder Always Ahead Charity said: “Through the work of Cheshire Connect the Always Ahead Charity has significantly benefited from a range of skill donor resource that has helped to develop our community led regeneration project. We have received support, advice and guidance from industry professionals, and local businesses that has helped us to develop a robust business plan and capital campaign strategy in order to ensure sustainability and resilience of the project.”
